The brewing industry is booming and the greater Knoxville area is home to an ever-expanding craft brewery scene. Check out this list of some of our favorite local tastemakers!

2. Pretentious Beer Co.

Situated in the Old City on Central, Pretentious provides craft beer, soda, and kombucha in their own hand-blown glassware. 

3. Schulz Bräu Brewing Company

Schulz Bräu offers pub-goers an authentic German “bier” experience. Located on Bernard Avenue, you can try any of their genuine German brews such as their Dunkel, Doppelbock, German Pils, and even their Schwarzbier.

4. Blackhorse Pub & Brewery

Kingston Pike is home to one of Tennessee’s most well-known breweries, Blackhorse. Blackhorse has a lot to offer from a pub you can relax in and enjoy your favorite beverage.

It’s not every day you can visit a retro, urban bar constructed from a repurposed service station, but today you can! Balter Beerworks is trendy place to spend an evening with the friends and enjoy social life while tasting some of their made-in-house beer.

Located on Sevier Ave, Alliance Brewing specializes in craft beers and has 12 different beverages on tap.

7. Hexagon Brewing Company

Hexagon creates craft beers using the most locally sourced ingredients and materials to support the community and craft beer fans of Knoxville and beyond. 

8. Crafty Bastard Brewery

Located near Fourth and Gill, Crafty Bastard is a pub that seeks to offer an unconventional craft beer experience from tropical flavored IPAs to smokey porters.

9. Fanatic Brewing Company

Although the taproom is currently under construction, Fanatic is a brewing company that has beer on sale in a number of Knox county and Blount county markets.

10. Downtown Grill & Brewery

Gay Street has a lot to offer, and Downtown Grill & Brewery is a key fixture that gives the street its local flavor. The Brewery provides unique craft-brews as well as outsource their signature “Woodruff’s” beer.

12. Smoky Mountain Brewery

As the oldest craft brewery in East Tennessee, Smoky Mountain Brewery has been around since before local craft beer was wildly popular as it is now. They are now a fully functioning chain of 4 restaurants/bars and can be found in Turkey Creek, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Maryville.

Elkmont offers pub-goers an intimate atmosphere reflecting an admiration for nature while focusing on accessible craft in Downtown North Knoxville. 

14. Last Days of Autumn Brewing

Last Days of Autumn have a passion for community and sustainability. Their taproom is located on East Magnolia.

15. Gypsy Circus Cider Company

Located in both Knoxville and Kingsport, Gypsy Circus is Tennessee's first craft cidery.

Knoxville's newest brewery, located at the South Knoxville Waterfront.

17. Clinch River Brewing

CRB is a unique craft brewery and casual restaurant destination in the heart of East Tennessee. Their first location in Norris is the perfect getaway after a day in the great outdoors, and the new downtown location is scheduled to make its appearance later this year.
