Beastie and Bone connects individuals with the wider, wilder world through paper taxidermy (handmade replicas of curious, endangered, and extinct animals), linocut prints, and illustration, all inspired by the wild, dark, handmade, and hopeful.
Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a paleontologist or National Geographic photographer, but chronic health issues soon pulled me away from these possibilities. So I turned to art to stay close to the natural world I love. After studying illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, I lived in several regions of the United States, and North American flora and fauna became the focus of my work. Now, I create dimensional “paper taxidermies” of endangered, unusual, and extinct species, and digital illustrations and design focused on conservation, hope, and natural history in my tiny home-studio in Knoxville, TN.
