The Bottom is a nonprofit cultural organization serving our community through a Black-affirming bookshop and arts space. We offer ongoing curated events, community projects, year round programming, shared resources, and physical space. We strive to cultivate a sense of belonging, togetherness and safety for Black people in Knoxville and beyond. Our current programs include: Black Creatives Meetup, Ceramics at the Bottom, Community Podcast Studio, Lit Kidz, Sew It Sell It, Tiny Bookshop Concert Series, and a UTK Faculty Fellowship. In our space you can find our bookshop, tea room, community art making studios, and the Elandria Williams reading and research room.
