Appalachian Arts Craft Center

The mission of Appalachian Arts is promoting creativity. We offer education and mentoring in art and craft, studios to explore and develop skills, a retail market for qualified artists, and a gallery to exhibit regional art. Our vision is to be a center of excellence for artist expression serving the creative needs of the Appalachian community. Appalachian Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the creative needs of East Tennessee.

Studios

Our studios serve as the heart of our creative community. The pottery studio features 8 wheels, a slab roller, a dedicated handbuilding table, and two electric kilns. We fire to cone 5/6 and offer a selection of studio glazes available for members.

Our weaving studio comes to life each Tuesday, as weavers gather during the day and evening to create, share knowledge, and continue traditional fiber arts.

The woodworking studio is equipped with a wide range of tools and equipment, including a vertical band saw, belt/disc sander, bench grinder, circular saws, drill press, miter saw, thickness planer, table saw, wood lathe, scroll saw, router, nail guns, and a variety of hand tools.

We also offer a multi-purpose classroom, providing a flexible space for classes, workshops, and community gatherings.
