Foothills Craft Guild, the oldest craft guild in Tennessee, is about to begin its jurying process that gives Tennessee artisans an opportunity to join.
The market soared on Saturday when makers and farmers alike brought their beautiful wares to the Market Square Farmers’ Market. Market analysts predict record highs this year, or at least very happy customers. Here’s a look at some of the makers who were there!
Sherry Jenkins laughed when asked what her first thought was when she woke up on the morning of April 1. As executive director of Dogwood Arts, she knows the month is about more than blossoms and balmy temps.
As the weather warms up and the dogwoods flower, vendor tents begin to pop up at markets and festivals in Knoxville and throughout the Southeast.

Kate Thurman and Alaina Smith have lots of experience selling from booths at craft fairs and markets. Alaina, who runs Cold Gold, has participated in 20+ craft fairs, and Kate of Smarty Pants Paper Co. has exhibited at craft fairs and trade shows and has created counter and floor displays for a product-based business. Both women have won awards for their craft fair booths. (Yeah, they’re awesome.)
