I am passionate about the outdoors and paint botanicals, landscapes and riverscapes while playing with color, shape and abstraction. My most recent paintings are inspired by hiking and biking in Knoxville Urban Wilderness Areas. My artwork often starts with organic imagery connected to nature but, as each piece develops, I allow myself to stray from my initial ideas to develop new connections and insights. 26 years ago I started looking for a new career. I happened upon Edens shop in Knoxville while living in Blaine Tn. I started painting furniture for them. They closed. I was so disappointed. However, I found a local artist in Knoxville who taught stained glass. So that is the route I went. I learned how to use a ruler and how to draw. In 2008, the market crashed and so I quit selling stained glass jewelry boxes and started taking my skills to painting with oils and collage art. Today, I am selling in 5 shops soon to be 7-8.
