I create sculptural paintings which engage with science and mathematics. I was born and raised in Knoxville. I attended MTSU for my BFA (painting and sculpture) and SCAD in Savannah, GA for my MFA in Painting. I am represented in Knoxville by Pivot Point Gallery. Please also visit me in my studio in the Broadway Studios & Gallery complex! Contact me through my website or any of the other links provided to arrange a time to meet me there.

I make functional, small-batch pottery with a modern aesthetic. My forms are traditional in shape but highly decorative, utilizing underglaze and slip techniques to add texture and images to the surface of the pots. I also create sculptures from repurposed plaster casts that have traditionally been utilized in the production of porcelain dolls. In addition, I create cut paper and digital collages and paintings.

Latex on canvas abstract landscapes with resin accents

My name is Dorothy Ellen. I'm based in TN. And I believe art should be fun. Youthful, colorful and playful best describe my abstract collection. Inspired by landscapes, water and light, it features statement paintings with hand-poured, light-catching resin accents, bright colors and rolling shapes that invite you to join me in a different world. My hope is that these pieces will not only transport you and bring some whimsy into your home but maybe brighten your day as well!

Aespyre Metal Design

Sculpture, ornamental and architectural ironwork

I design and create sculpture, trophies, ornamental and architectural metalwork. Ranging from large, outdoor and site-specific sculpture to custom trophies for large corporations like RedBull and GoPro, to hand forged iron railings and fire screens for homes, our work explores and defies the boundaries of metalwork. Our willingness to challenge limits enables us to make exciting discoveries in our chosen medium.
