Oglewood Avenue is a plant boutique that specializes in indoor tropical houseplants. Every plant is already repotted in unique and individual pots and planters so each plant is truly one of a kind. We want you to succeed in plant parenthood so we focus on building confidence in plant care. We combined the art of interior design with the science of plants.
Allison Meriwether’s paintings and drawing explore deeper self expressions of identity and focus on capturing themes in emotional experiences and story telling. Her current body of work, “Firsthand” is a group of oil paintings depicting hands accompanied by gold leafing that tell stories about our identity, our daily lives and our purpose for existing in a space.
Allison attended graduate school at New York University and Long Island University to obtain a master’s degree in fine arts. She now creates full-time in her Knoxville studio and teaches at a local high school. Her work has been shown in several galleries in New York, Boston, Texas, Florida, Oregon, Alabama, and Washington, DC. She has exhibited internationally in galleries in Seoul, Korea. Select pieces of her work are on permanent display at the Osceola Center for the Arts in Kissimmee, Florida and at the RCA Gallery in Washington, DC. She is a member of the Cambridge Art Association and the Arts and Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville.

I am an oil painter. My paintings are representational but artistic and I don’t really seek to portray an object fully. The paintings capture light and my unique perspective. Most of the art I create is sparked by a hike in the woods, travels, and daily living.
I love making brightly colored art that teaches lessons. I have turned my art into note cards with music lessons, science concepts... and a lot of cats and dogs. A large amount of my work supports music lessons, including books to inspire practicing. My work explores our relationship with other living creatures as we become further removed from the natural world. I primarily create detailed prints using multiple printmaking processes, such as hand-engraving on copper, monotype, and wood engraving. More recently, I've been also creating large weavings from salvaged plastic, experimenting with clay, and mural work. Through my work, I share the wild around us and consider our everyday actions that affect it directly or indirectly. My work aims to evoke a renewal of attentiveness, conversation, and respect for other living beings.

I'm an illustrator, author, and teacher living in Knoxville with my husband, two cats, and a collection of books constantly outgrowing its shelf space. I create art featuring my love of books and fierce women, and write novels and short stories subverting mythos and fairy tales.
I make functional, small-batch pottery with a modern aesthetic. My forms are traditional in shape but highly decorative, utilizing underglaze and slip techniques to add texture and images to the surface of the pots. I also create sculptures from repurposed plaster casts that have traditionally been utilized in the production of porcelain dolls. In addition, I create cut paper and digital collages and paintings.
